Patna: Amid escalating tensions between India and Pakistan, the Bihar government has taken precautionary administrative measures by cancelling leaves of all government officials and employees. This move is aimed at ensuring full preparedness in the face of any emergency arising out of the geopolitical situation.
The decision, issued by the state’s Home Department, directs all officers and staff across districts to remain on duty and avoid leaving headquarters without prior permission. All district magistrates and superintendents of police have been alerted and instructed to stay vigilant.
According to sources, the state machinery is on high alert following intelligence inputs and developments along the border, prompting the government to keep its administrative workforce fully mobilized. Though no specific threat to Bihar has been reported, the cancellation of leave is part of a broader nationwide readiness strategy.
Officials have also been instructed to ensure coordination between disaster management, health, and police departments. Hospitals are being asked to remain equipped for any eventuality, and communication channels between the state and central agencies are being closely monitored.
This proactive step comes as a part of a larger security protocol adopted by multiple states in view of growing tension in the subcontinent. While there is no immediate panic, the Bihar government’s preparedness reflects its commitment to public safety and rapid response capabilities.
The state has urged citizens to remain calm and not fall prey to rumors or misinformation circulating on social media.
