Prime Minister Narendra Modi was recently conferred with Kuwait’s highest civilian distinction, the ‘Order of Mubarak Al Kabeer,’ during his historic state visit to the Gulf nation. This prestigious award, presented by His Highness Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, the Amir of Kuwait, highlights the strong and enduring friendship between India and Kuwait.
In a heartfelt message, PM Modi dedicated the honour to the people of India and expressed gratitude for the continued bond between the two countries. He acknowledged the warmth and friendship shared by the nations, which has continued to flourish over the years.

The ‘Order of Mubarak Al Kabeer’ is an esteemed knighthood award granted to heads of state, sovereigns, and royal family members in recognition of their contributions to strengthening bilateral relations. Previous recipients of this award include prominent global leaders such as former U.S. Presidents Bill Clinton and George H.W. Bush, as well as Prince Charles of the United Kingdom.
This marks the 20th international award presented to Prime Minister Modi, underscoring his significant role in enhancing India’s global presence and diplomatic ties. The award further reflects the growing influence of India on the international stage and its leadership in fostering meaningful international partnerships.
As part of his visit, Prime Minister Modi was also honoured with a ceremonial guard of honour at the Bayan Palace, where he was warmly welcomed by the Amir of Kuwait and other senior officials. The ceremonial welcome was a symbol of the strong ties between the two nations, and the discussions held during the visit are expected to further enhance bilateral cooperation across various fields.
